Glazes
Just like each form made by Sinéad Cleary Studio is unique, so are glazes and their finishes. Each glaze has a range of possible outcomes that are dependent upon their chemical formula, application method + thickness, firing temperature, and more. While smaller pieces are able to be dipped, resulting in an overall smoother surface, larger pieces require handpainted application, which may result in a more varied surface. Please understand that the test tiles below may not show the full depth or variation among the glazes. Test tiles can be provided upon request for a small fee + shipping.Satin White

Raw Speckle
Raw Speckle is an unglazed white clay. It gives a natural, tactile feeling to a piece. Pieces that require it for use will be glazed in Clear Satin on the inside so they can still be used to hold liquid, while the outside will be in Raw Speckle. Anywhere there is no glaze on an object in Raw Speckle means it is porous.
