Shipping + Care
SCS Strives to be as intentional as possible with all materials, including shipping and packing materials. We believe it is essential that businesses should work to protect the Earth, especially as a business that creates from Earth-sourced materials. Therefore, almost all orders are shipped and packaged with materials created from
reused, recycled, or biodegradable materials. This is only one small step being made in the studio to limit environmental waste.
Please allow up to 2-4 weeks for your order to ship from the time it is placed. Some items may be in stock and therefore ready to ship immediately, while most items will be made-to-order and may take several weeks to ship.
If an item is damaged in the shipping process, please contact us with a photo of the item and packaging as received and you will be properly reimbursed. In any other case, exchanges or refunds are not accepted.
For best care, we recommend hand-washing all ceramics. The nature of clay is quite porous, meaning there is allowance for natural water absorption, which is part of the everchanging beauty and usefulness of the material. This also means that for unglazed clay, such as our
unglazed Terracotta Curb Planter, the clay will also absorb minerals and will show marks as it ages. This is one of the wonderful traits of clay. The Curb Planter in Eggshell is glazed on the inside only and therefore is less porous, but the outside is still susceptible to water or oil absorption. Some condensation on the bottom of the pieces is normal.
Process
All pieces are handmade in small batches in-studio using the wheel and hand-building methods. Due to the nature of handmade objects, each piece is individual. Slight variations in color, size, and shape may occur.
